What are Spatial Web Apps?
Not a chat window. Not a timeline you scroll. A place you move through.
Spatial web apps run in the browser first. Same URL on a phone, a desk, and Safari on Vision Pro. Pinch to zoom. Look to look around. No app store. No extra session.
Sci-Fi is the feel. Spatial is the interface. Web is how you open it.
Most software still lives inside a rectangle. A window. A tab. A feed. You sit in front of it. The software stays inside the frame. Spatial apps start from the opposite premise. The interface is space. You move through it. You do not only scroll down it.
Where is Paul? is the proof. A spatial record of a life. Globe. Timeline. Blog posts, cards, videos, comics from real photographs. Some pages carry a QR code that opens the actual place. The color of a place is how long a stay lasted. Clone the repo and swap moments/moments.js. That is the only file.
What makes a spatial web app
- A place, not a page. You move through it. A chat window is a regression.
- Browser first. One URL. Phone, desk, Safari on Vision Pro. Pinch to zoom. Look to look around.
- No store, no extra session. You do not download a visionOS binary. You open the page.
- Your copy is a file you can edit. On the globe, that file is
moments.js.
None of that is decoration. The things these apps hold are already spatial: a life, a song, a network of people. A flat list loses the relationships. Space keeps them.
The proof
Family needed to see where Paul was. The answer became a globe. Not a feed. Not a photo dump. A living spatial record — comics, voices, QR codes onto the real street. Takeout becomes a world you can spin. Years become a surface you can scrub.

- Clone: github.com/paulvisciano/where-is-paul. Edit
moments/moments.js. - Walkthrough: One prompt. Your own life map.
On Vision Pro it is still the same web page, in Safari. Pinch. Look. No extra session.
Same lab, different rooms
The category is plural. These are sister spatial web apps. They are not the campaign.
| App | The place |
|---|---|
| Where is Paul? | A life on a globe. The color of a place is how long you stayed. |
| Musical Cubes | Tracks as rotating cubes. Each face an instrument or a vocal. |
| Neuro Graph | People, places, time as a network you can orbit. |
| The Secret Family | A hierarchy of claims, mapped in the browser. Maps claims. Not an endorsement. |
Knowledge Graph is a different, private app. It does not lead this page.
